Parties to hold rallies to launch European elections campaign
Parties to officially launch European Parliament election campaigns on Monday
With just a month to go to the European Parliament elections, both Labour and PN are set to kick off their campaigns on Monday.
Labour is planning a mass rally in Birgu at 7:30pm and – reminiscent of the 2013 general elections – have already rolled out a YouTube video marketing the rally. On the other hand, the PN will hold a rally at 6pm at the party headquarters in Pieta.
Malta has a total of 33 candidates competing for the six seats in the European Parlaiment.
The EP elections are taking place on 24 May and an estimated 400 million EU citizens can cast their vote. A total of 751 MEPs will be elected who in turn will elect the new President of the European Commission President.
