Air Malta announces extra flights for Maltese voters

Aside from offering seats its scheduled services, Air Malta is offering extra flights to accomodate Maltese voters living abroad.

It will be operating 4 extra flights on Luxemburg and Brussels, on the following timetable.

These travel arrangements are available for eligible voters, including those married to foreigners, studying, working or undergoing medical treatment abroad;  and their dependents. A dependent means the child or step-child of such person under the age of eighteen years or the spouse of such a person.

Persons to whom this directive applies must be eligible voters whose name appears in the Electoral Register published within five days from the publication of the General Election Writ.

Inbound travel to Malta is possible from 14 May to 24 May 2014 and return travel is from 24 May to 1 June 2014. Those persons who will opt for early voting on the 17 May can travel to Malta from 14 May and may return as of the 17 May and not later than 1 June 2014. Those voting early have to apply at the electoral commission by latest noon on Friday 16 May 2014.

Reservations may not be changed and tickets are non-refundable. All relevant details that include names and surnames as per passport, ID card, address on ID card, email addresses, credit cards details and contact phone numbers (including mobile number) will be required at the booking stage prior authorisation of any ticket issuance. Details for dependents should include age, followed by date of birth.

Reservations may be made at the Air Malta Call Centre on this specific number (+356) 2599 1230. The centre will be open between Monday to Saturday from 0800-2100hrs and on Sunday from 0800-1700hrs.
