First count votes from the European elections

As the results show, former Labour prime minister Alfred Sant was top draw with over 48,000 votes; he is followed by the PN's frontunner, incumbent MEP Roberta Metsola, with over 32,000 votes.

As things stand, Labour candidates Miriam Dalli, Marlene Mizzi, Clint Camilleri and Joseph Cuschieri could each get the second and third Labour seats.

David Casa and Francis Zammit Dimech are also frontunners for the PN's second, and - if votes go their way given Labour's overall convincing majority - a third seat.
