Three teenage girls arrested after 14 year-old is grieviously stabbed in stomach

Police have arrested three teenage girls in connection with the stabbing last night of a 14 year-old girl from Zebbug.

The incident was reported last night after the girl was admitted to hospital with a stab wound to the stomach.

She was admitted to hospital shortly after the police were called to St. Dominic Street in Valletta, where the injured girl was found together with another 15 year-old friend.

Investigations revealed that the girl was stabbed during a fight that developed in St. Ursola Street in Valletta.

The fight was between girls all aged between 14 to 15 years-old, who have all been arrested and are expected to faces serious charges in court.

The injured girl's condition is said to be serious.

A magisterial inquiry is underway.
