Police probe 'abandoned' Tunisian fishing-boat off Xlendi Bay in Gozo
Police and Armed Forced personnel are searching the sea and coast around the Xlendi Bay area in Gozo, after a Tunisian-flagged fishing boat was found abandoned one mile off.

Informed sources told MaltaToday that the boat was discovered empty and drifting with the currents.
Authorities suspect that the boat may have transported a number of migrants who may have mistaken Gozo for the Italian island of Lampedusa.
An AFM patrol boat is combing the area, while police officers are searching on the mainland for people who may have swam to shore and are now in hiding.
A magisterial inquiry has been launched.
