Man critical after incident at Qormi fireworks factory
A 55 year-old man from Qormi suffered critical injuries in an incident at the St. Sebastian Fireworks factory.
The man sustained severe burns to extensive parts of his body, despite wearing a mask and protective clothing as he handled the fireworks.
He was rushed to hospital and admitted to the Intensive Therapy Unit, where he was certified to be suffering from severe burns and was in danger of dying.
A magesterial inquiry is underway.
