Industrial action at British pensions office

The action is being taken in furtherance of a dispute with the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), responsible for the British Pensions Office in Malta over the closure of the office announced earlier this year and the failure of the authorities to conclude and speed up an agreement on termination benefits for employees that have served the British Government for many years and that were well respected by both the local clients and the British authorities themselves. The Union regrets any inconvenience that may be caused to local pensioners and efforts are being made to ensure that the impact on pensioners shall be minimal. The British Trade Union Congress has been asked to aide in this issue.
