Hit and run driver caught, to be arraigned today
Police have traced and arrested an 18 year-old driver in connection with Sunday night's tragic hit and run incident, where an elderly British woman was killed in Qawra.
Police sources said that the driver was arrested after the damaged car was found abandoned.
He was arrested and interrogated, whereby the young driver allegedly admitted that he didn't see the woman and hit her as she crossed the road. He said that he sped after he panicked.
The youth is expected to be arraigned today.
The 77 year-old woman was killed on the spot. She was holidaying with her husband and daughter.

Congrats to the police in catching this waste of space. Let's hope (but I predict otherwise) the courts deliver a bit more than a suspended sentence.
