POYC becomes the first government department to be equality certifiede

The department of the Pharmacy of Your Choice has been certified with the equality mark by the National Council for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE).

Becoming the first government department to be equality certified, the certificate marks the POYC’s work in guaranteeing gender equality and work flexibility.

The head of the department, Roseanne Camilleri Debono, said the qualities achieved by gender equality and work flexibility are the basis of every success. These, she said, guarantee the full contribution from each employee, accountability, dedication, and respect.

“Such qualities permit the creation of innovation based on the skills and the experiences of all the workers,” Camilleri Debono said.

The POYC currently has 55,000 patients registered with it who are benefiting form the POYC scheme through the 114 pharmacies situated in the north of Malta. Half of Malta, mainly the south is still waiting for the POYC to be spread to their localities.

In its statement, the Ministry of Health said the scheme is expected to reach all localities by the end of next year.
