Syrian suffers serious injuries at work

A 42-year-old construction worker was injured in by a falling stone at a consturction site yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened on a construction site in St Paul’s Bay. The police were informed by the Health Authorities that a man of Syrian nationality, residing in Qormi, had been admitted to hospital suffering from head injuries.

According to preliminary investigations, the 42-year-old man was working at a construction site in Massimiljanu Kolbe Street when he was hit by a falling stone whilst working in a shaft.

The man was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries and is currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital.

Police investigation is ongoing.
