AD demands transparency on Engerer case
Alternattiva Demokratika - The Green Party expressed its concern following news reports regarding criminal procedures involving Cyrus Engerer just a few days after he switched from the Nationalist to the Labour Party.
AD Chairperson Michael Briguglio said: “Without entering into the merits of Engerer’s case and without speculating on the political analysis of his switch from one party to another, AD is concerned about the timing of the criminal procedures.
“In the name of transparency, AD calls on the police to explain the timing of their actions”.
Briguglio said that this is not the first time that political adversaries of a party in power have been treated in this way.
“The coincidences involved, from the timing of the procedures to the timing of news reporting, make things sound like a Mintoffian hangover reminiscent of a George Orwell or Franz Kafka novel,” he said.
