Video | The mind behind the madman?

Pick up your printed edition of MaltaToday on Sunday to read an exclusive interview with Paul Ray, the alleged ‘mentor’ of Norwegian gun-toting terrorist Anders Behring Brevik.

MaltaToday on Sunday brings you the musings of the man who founded the far right street protest organisation England Defence League before fleeing to Malta two years ago to escape arrest.

Ray, the man who found himself in the spotlight after being described as the ‘mentor’ behind the Norwegian terrorist, speaks of his relationship with Brevik and his reaction to the slaughter that took place on Utøya Island.

MaltaToday also asked Ray about his relationship with Johnny ‘Mad Dog’ Adair and Nick Greger, two men considered among Europe’s most dangerous, and who MaltaToday revealed were in Malta for “a gathering” in March.

I think the media has gave this guy Ray way too much exposure in the past week and now you put him on the Maltese map. I had never heard of this man before until I started seeing his name in the Maltese media. I also do not think the Maltese need an outsider like this Ray to tell us how to think. We maltese have the capacity to think for our self and to know that there are threats to Malta's security. Since 9/11, the world has seen innocent people losing lives in the US, in other european countries and thousands of suicide bombers in the MId East, Africa, and Asia. Why cannot people live in people. What we don't want is extremist from all sides to interfere in other people's or countries affairs. Finally, we maltese along our forefathers worked very hard to accomplish our independence and democratic process. We need to be vigilant at all times to ensure that non maltese - migrants and guest - do not interfere in our democratic process and create anarchy in our midst.

Listen to the "in-betweener's", Norman Lowell is not to be taken seriously but he does have truths in his speeches. If you dare listen, you'll realise that there are real problems and some crazy ideas which you should ignore. This person (Ray) also has some real dangers outlined, and some extreme ones that are to be ignored and are dangerous. But all in all the dangers exist. I don't know how or when but there was a murderer (I read it in some foreign newspaper) who started off in Malta (killed an immigrant) went to Italy and kept moving through Europe killing people till he was caught. I think he killed 16 people but don't remember exactly. Who does the checking, these people come in without papers or passports, and even if they do, they could easily hide behind dead or missing innocent ones. Think about it. Its a real security problem we're totally ignoring.

@christian. You can't ignore what is happening and pretend everything is running smoothly (fuq ir-rubini). There is a risk in giving them exposure - but there is a bigger risk of ignoring them. Its like a disease- ignoring it only makes it worse. Also there is a need to need to address the under lying issues of emigration and off religious groups being Islam, Christians or whatever from attacking the secular state to which the west owes its prosperity and quality of life. We have a good example of what happened with the problems in Arab countries and how this lead to terrorist and Bin Laden. In the end, it was wikileaks and the spring uprising that made terrorist irrelevant and the killing of Osama as non-event. One has to wonder what is happening in Malta. We seem to attract the worse of the worst in this country - criminals, terrorists, money laundering, pornographers, child molesters and yet the country is in complete stupor despite the massive concentration of media - then again if you are being lied to and distracted all the time - that is probably the result. In a country where everything is control politically - the blame starts and stops at the corrupted and morally-bankrupt leadership which has made Malta attractive for this scum.

I think Maltatoday is doing the same mistake l orrizont made when it gave a lot of exposer to Norman loweel, before no one knew him, but then trough the free publicity he gained popularity.

We have no need of people such as this man here, spreading his lies and hate. Why let him sow the seeds of hate as he did when he blogged on the Islam and Paceville blog of his?, and as for him and his mates use of the Cross of St George and admiration of the Knights Templar,he can stuff them. He's disgraced them.I am not a practising Christian but unlike him at least I know more about it then he does. All he and his likes do is spread hate as much as do the Islamic fundamentalists do. Go away Mister,we don't want you here..
