Police detain two teenagers in connection with Paceville stabbing
Two teenagers, one aged 16 from Mosta and an 18 year-old from Gharghur have been arrested by the police and are under investigation over the stabbing of a youth from Sliema in a fight last night in St. George's Bay, Paceville.
Police were called to the scene at 1am and intervened to stop a large group of youths who were about to attack a young man.
It transpired that the youths were attempting to apprehend their friend's aggressor who injured in a fight.
According to the police, the officers on the scene had to protect the young man from being lynched by the mob, and later found the injured youth from Sliema suffering from a stab wound to the stomach.
While the injured yout was taken to hospital and certified not to be in danger of dying, two teenagers connected to the stabbing were arrested and taken for questioning.
A magisterial inquiry is underway.
