Fire breaks out at HSBC Santa Venera branch
HSBC Bank Malta plc said that due to the electrical fault and ensuing small fire that broke out within a small section of the Santa Venera Branch this morning, the branch will be closed over the next few working days.
Branch staff will be relocated to the Hamrun branch where customers of Santa Venera Branch may be offered a limited service. This will allow for a survey of the electrical system as well as to clean up the premises, in order to resume service as soon as possible.
During the incident all Bank employees and customers were quickly evacuated unharmed and all emergency procedures were implemented effectively. No customer assets were damaged.
HSBC apologised for any inconvenience caused, and thanks the fire department and the police authorities for their prompt action.
