Government forks out €70,000 for the publication of ‘Let’s Gozo’
Government has handed out €70,000 to the Gozo Tourism Association (GTA) to cover part of the printing costs of Let’s Gozo’s second edition.
In a press release issued late this evening, Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono said government has given €70,000 to the GTA to help it pay part of the printing costs for its publication ‘Let’s Gozo’.
The news came on the same day that the second edition of GozoToday was out in Gozo and ensured it would become a monthly publication.
Debono said the publication will be distributed with a local English newspaper from next Sunday. However, she did not specify about which English newspaper she was referring to.
Let’s Gozo is set to be a bi-monthly publication. “The publication will include promotional and informative material related to attractions, characteristics and other elements related to the island’s identity,” GTA’s chief executive Joe Muscat said.
Debono said the initiative is tied with Gozo’s sustainable development and added that the publication will strengthen the prospects to increase employment on the sister island.
Contacted by MaltaToday, a spokesperson for the Minister said that she was not in a position to say whether any tenders had been issued or by which criteria had government chosen to give the money for the publication.
