Warrants presented to 115 new lawyers, two legal procurators

After finishing their studies, 115 lawyers and two legal procurators were presented their warrants in a ceremony on Tuesday.

The new legal professionals were given their warrants by justice minister Jonathan Attard, who congratulated them and wished them success. 

In a speech, Attard said that the justice sector is currently in an important period, as government is working on “significant” legislative reforms. He further explained that magisterial inquiries and compilations of evidence in the criminal field will be subject to change.

He also announced that government will soon open a public consultation with regards to reforms the family section in the court, as he encouraged those present to participate in the consultation process.

Present in the ceremony were Judge Giannino Caruana Demajo, Chamber of Advocates President Peter Fenech, and Chamber of Legal Procurators, Gerald Bonello. 

The State Advocate was also present, as well as the administration of the Court Services Agency.
