Rural affairs ministry cars left fuel-less for three days
Cars falling under the Rural Affairs Ministry were left without fuel for at least three days due to delays in issuing payments.
Drivers wanting to refuel ministry vehicles were informed by the government petrol station in Corradino that it was not authorised to give the drivers fuel leaving a number of cars falling under the rural affairs ministry fuel-less for three days.
Sunday newspaper Illum reports this was because the Rural Affairs Ministry - led by Minister George Pullicino - had not yet paid Enemalta for fuel previously consumed.
Under normal circumstances, cars and trucks authorised by the rural affairs ministry would be entitled to 100 litres of free fuel per month from this same station.
