Further reductions in medicine prices
Reductions of up to 45% in price of medicines, have been announced this morning by the parliamentary secretariat for consumer affairs.
The highest reduction is for a Wellbutrin XR packet of 150mg modified release tablet X30 which has been reduced by 45%. Six others have been reduced by 20%, while 15 have been reduced by 10%.
Talks with importers headed by parliamentary secretary Chris Said over the past 18 months, have led to the reduction so far of 176 medicines, and the secretariat has promised further efforts towards more reductions, and enforcement by inspectors to ensure consumers are sold medicines at the revised prices.
