Maltese-Tunisian Business Council sees great opportunities for local businesses in Tunisia
The Maltese-Tunisian Business Council says the Tunisian revolution presents well prepared local businesses with great opportunities.
Simon Alden, Chairperson of the Maltese-Tunisian Business Council travelled to Tunisia for the third time this year, as part of a business delegation.
The Maltese-Tunisian Maltese Business Council is an independent committee within the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, which has a Memorandum of Understanding with UTICA, a business organisation in Tunisia, to form a joint business council.
Since its' formation, the council has been very active and initiated and participated in several visits to Tunisia, as well as receiving delegations from Tunisia visiting Malta.
Several members of the Business Council also participated in the trade mission organised by Malta Enterprise. The mission was the second Malta Enterprise led mission to Tunisia this year.
The Maltese Tunisian Business Council said "As was the case during the last mission, the visit was organised with the indispensable assistance of the Maltese Embassy in Tunis, which took a leading role in organising one-to-one meetings between the Maltese business persons and their Tunisian counterparts."
"The Maltese-Tunisian Business Council is very pleased to have worked closely with Malta Enterprise and the Maltese Embassy in Tunis over the past year to raise awareness about the business opportunities which exist for Maltese businesses in this neighbouring market," Simon Alden said
Alden expressed his optimism in regards to future opportunities and said "Evidently, the changes which Tunisia is going through following its' Jasmine Revolution will present challenges to companies doing business in the country, but will also present the well prepared and persistent businesses with great opportunities."
The Maltese-Tunisian Business Council said it will continue to initiate activities aimed at increasing business exchanges between the two countries and will continue to expand its' network of businesses and stakeholders with a shared interest in this goal.
