Maltese short film winner in New York
Maltese short film ‘The Medic’ took home the award for the Best Directorial Debut of a Short Film in the ITN Distribution Film & New Media Festival in New York.
The winning film is the work of Ray Mizzi, a policeman by profession and a film director by passion.
The Medic - filmed in four days and edited in four months - is the story of a veteran soldier who served during the Second World War.
"I always wanted to do something about a battle during the Second World War. A battle full of explosives, rain and mud," Mizzi says.
Mizzi worked on the production, direction, editing and adaptation of the story. Joseph Navarro wrote the story.
