Jail for paedophile who turned two boys into ‘male prostitutes’

Michael Muscat from Birzebbugia, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Jacquline Padovani to having filmed the two children as he abused them.

In handing down judgement, Magistrate Padovani said that she was condemning Muscat to jail, given the seriousness of the charges, and for having "transformed two young boys into male prostitutes."

He was also charged to have abused the two children within his household.

Police Inspector Priscilla Caruana told the court that Muscat lured one of the two boys into his house while walking along the seaside at Birzebbugia.

Muscat - the Inspector said -  used his dog to charm the boys and have them regularly return to the house.

Inside the house, the boys would be allowed to use the man's computer, while he would intimately fondle the boys.

According to the police, the man would also encourage the boys to bring more friends over, and promising them money to do so.

A search conducted by investigators within the house led to the discovery of a video camera and photographs of the boys, while a detailed analysis of data held within Muscat's computer revealed child pornography.
