Moroccan woman acquitted of indecent exposure

A Moroccan woman has been cleared by a court on charges of immoral acts, indecent exposure in a St Julian's gentleman's club.

A court presided by Magistrate Audrey Demicoli this morning acquitted 32-year-old Rajaa Mokaddem, from Casablanca in Morocco, on charges on indecent exposure, immoral acts and prostitution.

Mokaddem was charged following a raid by police inside Midnight Cowboy, a gentleman's club in St. Julian's .

In her judgement, Magistrate Demicoli said police failed to prove that Mokaddem was living off prostitution, while evidence given showed that at the moment police entered the club, the woman was dressed, albeit with a low-cut shirt and transparent skirt.

No witness suggested that the woman or other girls inside the club had been indecently exposed, and the accused presence inside the bar was not evidence of any indecent act.
