Moroccan jailed for raping boy

A Moroccan man was this morning sentenced to eight years in prison for raping a 14 year-old boy.

Hamid El Faiq was convicted of raping the boy at least twice, and holding him against his will. The victim is Maltese.

According to the Magistrates Court, El Faiq raped the boy the first time when he decieved his victim that he was a professional footballer when the boy was playing football in St Paul's Bay.

El Faiq apparently showed the boy some tricks, before taking him to a secluded area and raped him. After that, El Faiq took the boy to his house, again deceiving him into showing him some football pictures.

The court ordered a ban on the boy's name.
