Nine years jail for Liberian guilty of trafficking heroin and cocaine

A 30 year-old Liberian national was jailed for nine years and fined €23,000, after he admitted to charges of drug importation.

Ibrahim Koroma, was arrested in Qawra together with a Maltese man.

Koroma and his Maltese accomplice were caught red-handed while carrying out the deal, but most of the drug was allegedly found in the Liberian's home in St Paul's Bay.

Both the Liberian and his 26-year-old Maltese accomplice, Christian Grech, had originally pleaded ‘not guilty’ when they were charged.
