Man dies after being dragged out to sea by wave in Qawra
Updated | A 68 year-old Briton has died this morning after reportedly being swept out to sea by a large wave in Qawra.
An Armed Forces helicopter has airlifted the corpse of a 68 year-old British national who was reportedly swept out to sea by a big wave which crashed onto the rocks in Qawra as he tried to take pictures.
The man was heard by witnesses calling for help as he was swept out to sea, but disappeared a short while afterwards.
His body was later seen floating in the sea more than 200 metres off shore, and was transported by AFM helicopter to Mater Dei morgue where investigations by police and forensic experts were initiated as part of a Magisterial inquiry.
