Gozitan critical after coast road crash

A 28 year-old Gozitan from Fontana is fighting for his life after sustaining serious injuries in a traffic accident in Bahar ic-Caghaq.

The accident was reported at 04:15am when the Gozitan reportedly lost control of his Toyota, crashed into an electricity pole, overturned and ended up on the rocks beneath the road.

The driver was extracted from the wreckage of his car by Civil Protection personnel and a paramedic team which was dispatched from Mater Dei Hospital.

He was immediately admitted into the Intensive Therapyt Unit, where his condition has been described by doctors as critical.

A Magisterial inquiry is underway.
