Alternattiva Demokratika is ready to open coalition negotiations with both the Nationalist Party and the Labour Party.

In an interview with the Sunday newspaper Illum, AD's secretary general and Attard councillor, Ralph Cassar says that the Green party is prepared to negotiate a coalition with both parties in the light of the 2008 general election in which no party obtained an absolute majority.

"Although the possibility seems remote at the momen t, since the Labour Party enjoys a 14-point lead in polls, history teaches us that as elections get closer the gap between parties shrinks. If the election result is similar to the 2008 election and no party obtains an absolute majority, AD is ready to enter into a coalition agreement as long as it is done before the election itself," Cassar says.

Cassar adds that AD will only form a coalition if the agreement allows MPs to table private members bills freely.

truth seeker and AD would have held PL at ransom. AD only seeks power and does not care with whom it forms a coalition. So much for principles.

jgalea tal-AD jidher li insew kif gew milghuba mill-PN fl-ahhar elezzjoni. Imma hekk jew hekk dawn qatt ma ghandhom cans li jtellghu lil xi hadd ghax hlief jiddefendu l-barranin u l-immigranti illegali ma jaghmlux.

No one wants another 'skalda zghira' like Franco Debono. The A.D. knows very well how they were used by the PN during the election after the EU referendum. So does its ex chairman Dr. Harry Vassallo. The PN will never change. Sweet talk before the election and the opposite afterwards. If we want to get rid of the PN are we going to vote AD to help the PN win. Ic-cwiec jaghmlu hekk.

Pl does not need A.D. at all. All Pl needs to do is to insist and persist so that expired I.D. cards are to be renewed or for sure it will not win the next general elction. A.D. should go on their own. If A,D. joins PN as coalition it would be a shame cause they would be accomplice to all this corruption that has been going on these last five years and in the coming legislation.

If PL made a coalition with AD last election, they would have been in government.

I SMELL A DEAD RAT'S DECOMPOSING ODOR COMING FROM THE WHEREABOUTS OF TAL-PIETA' HERE. AD HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CONVENIENT TOOL IN THE HANDS OF THE PN AND I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED AT ALL IF THEY ARE PLANNING SOME MISCHIEVOUS SCHEME TOGETHER. CAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO COMPROMISING FOR SELF GAIN, THE PN ARE ARCHI-PROFESSIONALS WHILST AD ENJOY GIVING IT A TRY...AFTER ALL THEY HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING TO LOOSE. IN THIS ARE BOTH PLAYERS HAVE NO SCRUPLES.

Who cares. An inconsequential grouping which has failed to leave a mark on the Maltese political scene time and time again. Their pompous declarations and pretensions to grandeur are reminiscent of Saddam Hussein's claims to a glorious victory against the Allied forces in the Gulf. Obviously their efforts to lower the electoral threshold would open the door to all kinds of loony movements including somebody with dreams of empire...a movement which, considering things as they are, would certainly make more political headway then poor AD has ever done in so many years.

L AD taf li il PN dejjem b idejh miftuhin. Il PN dejjem kien favur id Demokrazija, u IVA l AD andha tahdem BISS mal PN ghan nom tad Demokrazija.

Dream on Ralph, do you think that Labour, after waiting so many years, is going to share the power with anybody?? Nobody in his right mind would think so. Only Labour can loose the next election. A good 20% of those that voted PN in 2008, would rather use the voting document as toilet paper than use it to put the party back in power. Would the PL be any better? Well frankly most don't care but the fact that this arrogant lot is put out in the cold, is good enough for them. Remember, Gonzi's ''nivvota bil-qalb'' comment when it came to increase utility prices, is still ringing in their ears.

What's make an island like Malta look rich,is the enviroment.Like lots of healty trees like does we have in busket, all over the island. We must respect our wild life at 100% levil. At the moment the island looks like it is close to death,so we need polititions like AD.

In the last election Labour Party could have won without the need for any coalition. It only required imagination and guts
