Business puts €12 million price tag on extending parental leave

A report by the Chamber of Commerce and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association has been presented to government.

Amongst other things, the report, compiled by the Chamber's business bureau, claims the cost of extending parental leave to the EU standard of 18 weeks will be €12 million.

The report was presented to parliamentary secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister Chris Said.

Malta is currently at the bottom of the European list of parental leave entitlement, which stands at 14 weeks.
