Accidental shot kills hunter

UPDATED | A man was killed by what investigators believe was an accidental shot from his own shotgun.

A man was found dead with a gunshot wound to his upper chest and face by the roadside in Tal-Kotob Road in Zejtun.

He discovered dead with a shotgun next to him, in what investigators claim to believe may have been an accidental shooting.

According to crime scene investigators, the shotgun was in the dead man's possession before he died.

Ballistic experts on site believe that the shotgun went-off accidentally while being handled by the man, who was said to be returning home after a day bird-hunting.

 Magisterial inquiry is underway.

I am in favour of having some kind of arena with lions and such and the hunters can go in with spears and clubs. It has to be an equal match - a test of courage for the hunters and an equal chance to come out alive for the animals. Brutal shooting of helpless birds by some big bully with a gun is hardly sports. I am sure that some readers are probably amused at the idea of some brute shooting himself - but this would not be a civilized attitude.
