A man who was ‘cleared’ of all charges connected to an alleged threat to blow up a London train last January, has been charged with causing distress to the girl who reported him to British Transport Police.

26-year-old student Daniel Gatt was arrested by armed police who stormed a Southampton to London train on 28 January 2012, following the rerpot another passenger that he made a bomb threat.C

Charges against him were "dropped" after BTP cleared him of the bomb threat. The girl still reported Gatt to police over harassment for causing her distress.

Daniel Gatt appeared before the Southampton Magistrates Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him by British Transport Police.

The court was told that Gatt told an 18-year-old woman that he was going to blow the train up - which he denied, having used the word 'bomba' in a conversation with his dad while communicating to him the succesful results he got in an exam. The court ruled that Daniel Gatt is to stand trial which has been set for July 3 at Southampton Magistrates Court.

Gatt has claimed he believes that a female passenger made up the story that alerted the police.

She did not flee the train but stayed until the police arrived. After Gatt was arrested, the girl's friend apparently smiled and made a rude gesture towards him.

Arrested under the Terror Act, Gatt said that he was denied the right to a phone call or access to a lawyer.

He subsequently was bailed on condition that he returned to Britain to face the charges.
