UPDATED: Foreigner critical after 'head-on' collision

A foreigner has been hospitalized and certified to be in a critical condition following a head-on car collision in the limits of Naxxar. 

According to the police, the accident happened in the area known as 'it-Telgha t'Alla w Ommu' when the foreigner was involved in a thead-on collision with a van, driven by a 45 year old Maltese from St. Paul's Bay, who also sustained injuries.

Civil Protection rescuers were called to the scene, while the injured were transported to hospital by ambulance.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered.
