Two Italian nationals were rescued by an AFM vessel this morning after their yacht caught fire and had to be abandoned.
The incident involving the two Italians happened early this morning nine miles off Marsalforn, Gozo.
The Italians successfully launched a dinghy at sea to escape the flames and were then rescued by the vessel.

So they had to go pick them up fully armed? I realise this must be a file photo, but people might be caught unawares when they see it, especially with all the new "emigres" arriving. A more appropriate picture, or if not available than none at all, would have been better.

...and then they were taken to a detention centre while their status is considered.
