Three hospitalised in Regional Road accident

A rental car being driven by two women on Regional Road in the direction of the Kappara roundabout, from Valletta, was involved in a harrowing traffic incident earlier this afternoon.

On-site police officers said the car was involved in a collision with the vehicle in front of it, and subsequently managed to spin onto the centre-strip that separates the Regional Road carriageway.

Upon finding itself on the opposing lane, the car was impacted by an oncoming vehicle.

The women, believed to be tourists, have been hospitalised as well as the motorist in the car, the latter for injuries incurred during the ejection of the airbag.
