Carabinieri chief dies on Malta holiday
Northern Italy Police chief dies of heart attack on arrival for holiday with family in Malta.
Commander Raniero Riccio, the chief of Northern Italian town of Arezzo's Carabinieri died suddenly last night in a St. Julian's hotel, hours after landing in Malta. He was meant to spend two weeks holidaying with his family.
41 year-old Riccio was rushed to Mater Dei hospital but was certified dead on arrival.
Arrangements are being made for his body to be flown back to Italy.
