Police dispatched to site of ‘suspect burial’, finds dead dog

Police and Civil Protection units were dispatched to the Lapsi area on the outskirts of Siggiewi early this afternoon, when a burial area was reported to the district police by an onlooker.

Police sources claim the informant had witnessed people digging a hole in a private field early this week, which today was found covered.

With reports of two missing teenagers dominating the news this week, it was perhaps with some relief that the police uncovered a German shepherd dog buried in the hole.

News of the emergency saw journalists scramble to the area, but were left with little to say about the grisly find.
