Favouritism shown for bouncy castle by Zebbug council
The local council of Zebbug, Gozo, allows for a bouncy castle to operate without a permit, while another one must pay €7 daily.
Sunday newspaper Illum reports how one bouncy castle operating in Marsalforn has to pay €7 every day to keep its permit, while another one is paying nothing since it has no permit. This allegedly has been going on with the Zebbug council's blessing.
According to Illum, the abuse started under the mayorship of former Nationalist mayor Charles Saliba, who had been notified over the illegality but was reportedly pressured against taking any action.
The newspaper adds that the woman who applies for the use of the electricity meter is the partner of a Gozitan policeman stationed in Rabat.
