Mater Dei denies necrophilia news report
Mater Dei's hospital management has denied a report appearing on Favourite Channel news, that alleged a man had had sexual intercourse with a corpse and then, through sexual intercourse, had infected a woman
In a statement issued today, Mater Dei Hospital management denied a news report on Favourite news that claimed an act of necrophilia had taken place inside the hospital mortuary. The hospital management said it "condemned the circulation of such unfounded morbid news which is causing great pressure on the staff who works in the Hospital Mortuary.”
Favourite Channels News reported that a former employee of Mater Dei had allegedly infected a woman after sexual intercourse, after the man had committed necrophilia inside the hospital mortuary. Favourite Channel News continued to report that the woman had later allegedly been infected with a sexually-transmitted disease. The channel reported that the woman’s gynecologist had informed the woman that her disease originated from sexual intercourse with corpses (necrophilia). She was later hospitalised and spent several days in intensive care as her condition was critical. The woman's condition appears to be terminal.
When contacted by MaltaToday, Claudette Buttigieg,a spokesperson for the ministry of health, said that this story was unfounded and that after the ministry carried out its own investigation, “no records of the woman in question were found.”
