The 17-year-old mother of nine month old baby Roselana, who drowned in a bath on August 31, has been granted bail against a personal guarantee of €20,000.
Baby Roselana drowned in a bath while unattended
Magistrate Claire Zammit Stafrace has granted bail to the 17-year-old mother who stands accused of the involuntary murder of her nine-month-old daughter Roselana, in Cospicua, whom she allegedly left unattended in the bath.
The mother was granted bail at the end of a long sitting which was held behind closed doors.
Magistrate Zammit Stafrace upheld a request by defence lawyers Michael and Lucio Sciriha, and Mark Montalto to hear evidence related to the case behind closed doors, given the mother was still a minor.
Police Inspector Robert Said Sarreo led the prosecution.
