Suspended sentence for assaulting neighbour with chain

Vincent Rizzo, 66 of Vittoriosa received an 18 month jail term, suspended for three years, after a court found him guilty of violently assaulting his neighbour Wayne Callus, with a chain last May.

Rizzo caused permanent injuries to Callus when he hit him with the steel chain, when an argument erupted between the two.

According to the prosecution, Rizzo accused his neighbour of having insulted his daughter.

Callus denied ever having insulted Rizzo's daughter.
