1,619 traffic incidents involving Arriva-owned vehicles
Since Arriva started operating on Maltese roads, its vehicles have been involved in 1,619 traffic incidents.
Transport vehicles owned by Arriva Malta Ltd have been involved in no less than €1,619 traffic accidents since the company started operating in Malta last year.
Transport Minister Austin Gatt tabled the information in parliament in reply to a parliamentary question raised by Labour MP Charles Buhagiar.
It is however not clear how many of the cases involved the buses as the question and answer were generic to vehicles owned by the company.
The service provided by Arriva has come under fire yet again, this time for its bendy buses.
The 18-metre long buses run some of Malta's main bus routes since public transport was liberalised and British company Arriva took over the operation of the bus network.
This time, the debate was sparked by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson who said he had been too happy to see the back of the articulated buses when they left the city.
