Car catches fire twice in same evening
Car catches fire twice on Saturday evening in Naxxar, incident being treated as arson.
A BMW in Naxxar caught fire twice on Saturday evening, first at 7:30 pm, and again at 12:30 pm.
CMRU confirmed that police first received a call of a burning vehicle in M. Murray Street in Naxxar.
After going on site and extinguishing the flames, CMRU said the vehicle was returned to the owner.
However, CMRU said that a second call was received at 12:30 of another burning vehicle in the same street.
CPD officers who went on site to extinguish the flames found that it was the same vehicle.
According to the CMRU, the vehicle was almost completely destroyed by the second fire.
CMRU said that the incident is being treated as a case of arson, and that Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit was informed.
