Nationalist MP Franco Debono lashed out at finance minister Tonio Fenech and in comments to MaltaToday he said that the police should investigate the contacts that took place between the Montebello brothers and his personal secretary, and whether the money was used in his campaign.

"The PN needs a good cleansing from people like Tonio Fenech. Hearing him speak one gets the impression that we are living in Iraq. Fenech believes that he is some emperor, above the law and can do as he pleases," Debono noted.

He challenged Fenech to a public debate and added that the finance minister could also "bring along his chief canvasser Austin Gatt".

"I challenge him to a debate since he is going around attacking me behind my back like an idiot. He should confront me if he has the guts," Debono said.

As I have said just yesterday, I guessed that after C. Mifsud Bonnici, R. Cachia Caruana and A. Gatt Franco would want yet another head to roll, and this time the victim is Tonio Fenech. Probably he would go on in this charade until all ministers are eliminated! Sour grapes Franco?

But is everyone subject to the law of the land? Or Malta allows power brokers a lot of winks and nods. Will the Whistleblowers Act unleash an avalanche of uncovered and exposed misdeeds? Is this why the PN in Government avoided it like the plague?

Well said Franco. Sometimes you act like a baby but here like in many others you have a valid point big time. Now put your actions where your mouth is!
