AD object to proposed development in Swieqi

Alternattiva Demokratika submit objections to Mepa in regards to "massive" development at former Forum Hotel in Swieqi.

Alternattiva Demokratika is objecting to the proposed plans for the "massive development" of the former Forum Hotel in Swieqi into a commercial centre, flats, villas, multi level car parks and a supermarket amongst other things.

AD candidates Arnold Cassola and Carmel Cacopardo have submitted to Mepa, The Green Party's, objections based "on the fact that the proposal for development is of massive proportions."

The party said that such an enormous project will generate a large amount of traffic, which will even be compounded through the building of the multilevel car-parking area which is planned as part of the project.

"As a consequence of the increased amount of traffic, there will be a significant  diminution in air quality in the area, and this will be detrimental to the health of residents of Swieqi, in particular to those living close to the proposed project," Alternattiva Demokratika.
