Updated | Gonzi to publish report with costings for all electoral programme proposals
Public discourse revolves around electoral programme proposals.
The PN this evening held a public discourse in Cospicua, forming part of the traditionally left leaning 2nd district. Ingrid Brownrigg will be the first female PN candidate ever to contest this particular district.
The Prime Minister tonight raised the bar by promising to publish a report containing the full costings of all measures contained in the electoral programme.
On the much discussed topic of tablets, Lawrence Gonzi promised that all books published by Maltese authors shall be available in e-book format for use on the government funded tablets.
"The value of these tablets shall be in their contents. We will be offering these tools to students and teachers alike. Furthermore these tablets will be leased from a particular manufacturer, who shall be contractually obliged to provide a more modern tablet every few years."
The tablets shall be available to all children attending government, church and independent schools.
"Our electoral programme is dependant on prudent financial management. This requires more employment and hence more income for the government. In the coming days we shall publish a study showing the full costings of all our electoral programme proposals," Gonzi said.
The Prime Minister reiterated his pledges to include a cost of living adjustment for stipends and the opening of an oncology hospital.
Attention will also be given to addressing Malta's high incidence of diabetes.
