Muscat asks Gonzi to join him for Pope Francis’s installation

Malta’s delegation to Vatican City led by President George Abela to include Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Opposition leader Lawrence Gonzi.

Pope Francis's installation mass will be in two days' time and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has asked Opposition leader Lawrence Gonzi to join the Maltese delegation traveling to Vatican City.

The delegation will be led by Maltese President George Abela.

The news came through Muscat's official Twitter account. The Prime Minister tweeted that he was "glad" that Gonzi accepted his invitation.

Muscat also said that the Maltese delegation to Rome would "symbolise national unity".
