Mosta Health Centre to open in two weeks’ time
Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia announces Mosta health centre to open on 22 April.
The newly refurbished Mosta health centre will open on Monday 22 April, Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia announced today.
The refurbishment project started under the PN administration last year at a cost of €600,000. The minister said facilities and services will increase, also providing emergency procedures such as plastering.
Last year, the former health minister also announced that minor operations, such as the removal of cysts, would be carried out at the new centre. The centre will be equipped with a small operating theatre.
At the time, Joe Cassar had said the restructuring would cost €500,000.
Farrugia said the migration towards the centre will be carried out over the weekend, adding that the government had plans to upgrade the Mosta and Rabat centres.
Speaking at the Birkirkara health centre on the occasion of World Health Day, Farrugia said 22% of the Maltese population suffered from high blood pressure. This year's World Health Day marks the problem of high blood pressure.
