Nationalist Party outside leadership contender Raymond Bugeja says PN ‘needs solutions’, points to experience in management and financial sector
In an interview with weekly newspaper Illum, Bugeja says that his professional experience in the financial and investment management sector is what the Nationalist Party needs to address its current problems.
"We know what the party's values are. What we need are solutions," Bugeja says, stressing that managing a party or a country is not very different from managing a company.
Bugeja, a businessman who made splash in the local political scene when he came out of nowhere to announce his bid for the PN top post, also insists that political exposure is not everything.
He points to his considerable professional experience managing several companies abroad, and also his experience that a investment management company that he co-founded and worked at till 2010.
Bugeja also responds to revelations that he had approached the Labour Party to contest on their ticket and had specifically requested the finance ministry in return.
The outsider also reveals how he is approaching his candidature for the party's leadership, and discusses his approach the party's delegates who will be making the crucial choice on 4 May.
