Mobile Squad police officers decorated for bravery

Two police officers from the Mobile Sqaud have been decorated for their heroic confrontation with armed robbers who attempted to steal from HSBC Bank's Operations Centre in Qormi on June 30.

The two officers exchanged fire with the would-be robbers when they came under heavy fire when they arrived on the scene to respond to an emergency call.

Home affairs minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici who praised the two officers courage and sense of duty, decorated the officers in the presence of Commissioner John Rizzo during a ceremony to mark Police Day.
