New Housing Authority board announced
Antoinette Vassallo appointed chairperson of Housing Authority; Albert Buttigieg to retain role as CEO.
Social solidarity minister Marie Louise Coleiro Preca has appointed Antoinette Vassallo as the new chairman of the Housing Authority while Albert Buttigieg will retain his role as Chief Executive Officer.
Antoinette Vassallo, married to former Labour MP Adrian Vassallo, is also a former mayor of Ta' Xbiex with a vast background in social welfare.
Robert Ducker was appointed deputy chairman while Lino Bianco, Alex Buontempo, Ivan Grixti, Helen Mallia, Margaret Quintano and Ray Zammit are board members.
In announcing the new board, the minister said each member brought to the table different experiences that will make difference to the country's social housing.
"The Authority must now invest in human resources to set up a multi disciplinary team that can offer a holistic social assessment," Coleiro Preca said.
She said that the Housing Authority must work in conjunction with other social entities.
