Public service re-sits for failed candidates

Public service employees who failed controversial public service exam given chance to re-sit for exam.

Public service employees who failed the public service examinations at the centre of a political controversy, will be granted the opportunity to re-sit their examination, the Office of the Prime Minister said.

Last month, MaltaToday revealed that an internal examination in the civil service for over 800 applicants was under police investigation after serious allegations of a scam to alter exam results.

The government said that the original results examinations for clerks, executive officers, assistant principals, principals and senior principals were published last week, but it felt that candidates who failed their exam should also be offered a remedy for the shortcomings in the process.

These candidates were also given the opportunity to revise the exam.

Re-sits applications will be opened next Wednesday and will be able to be downloaded from the Examinations Department website, or collected from the department. More information will be released next week.

Even those who passed should do the re-sit!

If there really was a scam, ALL those who sat for the exam should do the resit. Who knows if those who passed did not have their results altered to their advantage?
